certified wedding planner

Your wedding day is extremely important to you and you want everything to go perfectly. The best way to make sure that everything goes as planned is to get a wedding planner to do the job for you. A wedding planner will help you plan everything down to the smallest detail. Essentially, the burden will be off of your shoulders as the wedding planner goes to work. However, not all wedding planners are created equal. Some have more experience and education than others and some are simply more talented than others. So how can you determine if a wedding planner is worth all the money they charge to make sure your wedding goes on without a hitch? Well, for one you can ask for their previous wedding experience, and second you can ask if they are a truly certified wedding planner.

Experience

If a wedding planner is certified, they more than likely have experience; and lots of it. For that reason, you may want to make sure your wedding planner is certified rather than find an experienced wedding planner without certification. A certified wedding planner will have been schooled in all that wedding planning entails. They’ll know the ins and outs of the business, they’ll already have good business contacts and they’ll likely come highly recommended. So ask to see certification before you hire a wedding planner. You’ll be glad you did. Nobody wants to just trust anyone with their wedding and that’s what you’re doing if you don’t ask for some kind of certification.

Taking A Chance

You can take a chance on a lot of things. You can drive away from the fast food restaurant without checking to see if your order is correct, you can trust the grocer with your grocery tab without checking your receipt line by line and you can take a chance that your car will make it to the gas station even though the little gas light is on; but most people don’t want to take any chances with their wedding. They don’t want to think back with regret because they hired a wedding planner on a whim. Instead, research your wedding planner, ask about their previous experience, talk to their previous clients and make sure they’re a certified wedding planner. That’s the only way you can be sure your wedding will be that glorious day you’ve always dreamed it would be ever since you were a child.

Your bridesmaids do a lot for you in the months leading up to your wedding. In addition to standing up for you during the ceremony, they also spend time and money getting ready for the wedding. That’s why it’s so important to give them a gift before the wedding to let them know how much you appreciate them and their involvement in your special day.

Bridesmaid gifts are traditionally given during the rehearsal dinner, but these days, traditions are going out the window as brides and wedding parties are becoming more unique and personalized. It also used to be tradition to give the bridesmaids something that they could wear with their wedding attire, such as coordinating bracelets, but current trends are pointing toward less bride-centered gifts. Today’s bridesmaids appreciate thoughtful gifts geared toward them and not the wedding.

If you have a medium- to large-sized wedding party, getting a gift that pleases everyone can be very difficult. Instead of trying to do the impossible, why not pick a gift for each of your bridesmaids individually? Shop just like you would for a birthday present. Pick a price limit for each of your bridesmaids and then try to find a personalized gift within that range.

You can pick something related to each bridesmaid’s interests. A scrapbooking fan will appreciate a gift certificate to a local or online craft store, some pretty scrapbooking paper or credits to purchase digital photos. Have a movie fan in your wedding party? Get her a few of her favorite DVDs or purchase tickets so she can see the latest release at your local megaplex. An animal lover will appreciate something that she can use with her “fur baby” like a new pet toy, a book on her favorite animal or a gift certificate for a grooming salon. Friends with a beauty nut? Send her on a shopping spree at her favorite beauty boutique or pick some bath and body items in a yummy scent that she can enjoy.

In addition to individual gifts, you can also plan an event for the entire group prior to the wedding day. A spa day is a fun way to relax with your bridesmaids and treat them to something special. It’s a way to both get everyone ready for the wedding and to say thank you. Call around to local spas and see if they have bulk discounts on facials or pedicures. If you plan a spa day, make sure to let your bridesmaids know that you’ll be covering a special treatment for them all. This way if anyone chooses to get an additional spa treatment, they can book it in advance. You can also give your bridesmaids spa gift certificates of their own.

No matter how you choose to thank your bridesmaids, make sure that you send thank you notes after every big event leading up the wedding. Send a note after they agree to be your bridesmaids, after the dress fitting and after your shower and/or bachelorette party. Your bridesmaids are spending a lot of time and money on your special day, so you should do everything that you can to thank them for their efforts.

Wedding invitations are a big deal. Invitations are keep sakes people treasure the remainder of their lives. They also set the stage for the wedding by giving invited guests a feel for the overall class and production of the occasion. The rehearsal dinner is an important part of the wedding, so the rehearsal dinner invitations are also a big deal. Keep in mind too that years later, this invitation will be something the bride will proudly show her children and even their potential spouses.

Who receives them is an important part of the invitations. That isn’t hard. Wedding rehearsal dinner etiquette requires that all those who have a place in the wedding receive an invite to the rehearsal dinner. This includes the parents of the bride and groom, as well as the bridal party, and any other family and friends who the bride and groom think should attend. Don’t forget the priest, minister or official who oversees the ceremony. This is a smaller list than the wedding invitation list as it only covers people who actually have a role.

The design and printing of these invitations is important. Many people opt to have the people who create the wedding invitation create these as well. That’s a good choice. The fewer service providers with a hand in the wedding the better. This will also mean a consistent look between all the invitations. The design remains the same, or can be a kind of riff on the main wedding invitation design, if the same artist or designer is involved with both. And don’t forget the possibility of saving money. It’s more likely to get a little discount if all the invitations are designed and printed by the same entity. However it’s the groom’s parents who usually oversee the reception dinner. While the bride and groom will be involved in every aspect of the wedding, the groom’s parents may feel more special if they can deal with these invitations outside the parameters of the actual wedding invitations. A different design may also compliment the original wedding invitations.

The rehearsal dinner is important in the overall scheme of the wedding. It’s something like a walk in baseball. A poor job on the rehearsal dinner invitations can spell disaster, while a good job can make the wedding shine.

Groomsmen are essential to any wedding party, and there's no better way to show your gratitude than to give them a gift. Traditionally, groomsmen are given their gifts at the rehearsal dinner and are something that can be worn at the wedding, such as cufflinks or a tie pin. However, today's trends are toward giving groomsmen a gift that they can really enjoy. Look at the following list for ideas on what to give and you’ll have a happy wedding party.

Before you find a specific gift to thank your groomsmen, you may also want to show your thanks by making it as easy as possible to be in the wedding. Make each groomsman a notecard that clearly outlines any important dates and resources he'll need as the wedding approaches. Give your groomsmen all of the pertinent information that they'll need to rent their tuxedos. Laminate the card and attach a magnet to the back so that it won’t be lost. Your groomsmen will appreciate this extra step you took to keep them in the loop.

You can also mark the occasion with something commemorative. Personalized gifts, such as beer steins or a custom deck of cards, are a great way to say thank you and mark the occasion. Make sure any personalization is in the name of the groomsman. No one likes to carry around an item with the names and wedding date of someone else.

Don't feel like you need to give the same gift to all of your groomsmen. Try to custom tailor a gift for each member of your wedding party. A wine and beer lover will enjoy a membership in the beer of the month or a wine of the month club. A handyman will appreciate a gift certificate to the local hardware store or lumber yard. An entertainment buff will love a DVD set of his favorite television show. A sports fan would welcome tickets to his favorite event or some memorabilia from his favorite team. Giving gifts this way means that you won’t have to try to find a “one size fits all” gift for the entire group.

Practical gifts are almost always more appreciated than ornamental ones, especially by men. You'll want to give them something they will actually use. For example, give a grilling set that includes barbecue tools, a collection of sauces and a grilling apron. Try a DVD gift set, such as all of the Godfather movies or the Matrix collection depending on the taste of your groomsmen.

In addition to getting each groomsman an individual gift, you could also arrange a special event for all of your groomsmen to share. This should be a separate event from your bachelor party and completely arranged by you. You could share a sporting event together, such as a baseball game or a boxing match, or host a card game. Make the event relaxing and one that everyone can enjoy.

When it comes to giving groomsmen gifts, customization is everything. Make the gift about them and not about your wedding and they’ll be sure to appreciate it.

When it comes to your wedding invitations, you probably know about how much of your wedding budget will be spent on them.  If you could spend even less without sacrificing style and quality, that extra money could be spent elsewhere on your wedding or saved for future use.

Steps to saving a little money on your wedding invitations do not have to be huge to be cost effective.  In fact, sometimes just planning ahead can save you both dollars and stress.

Of course, the most obvious step would be to trim down your guest list resulting in fewer invitations to order but that is not always practical when you have plenty of family and friends with whom to celebrate your special day.

There are also many other ways to ease your wedding invitation budget:

1.  Shop around to find that perfect style that fits your budget.  The Internet provides the convenience of shopping from your computer when it fits your schedule.

2.  Place your order early to prevent paying more for expedited shipping methods.  Last-minute pressure will also be eliminated by having plenty of time to assemble and address your invitations.

3.  Be sure to order some extra invitations to allow for last-minute guests and to save a few for keepsakes.  It’s definitely cheaper to order more initially than to place an order for only a few invitations later.  Usually, the more invitations you order, the less the per-piece cost.  If the option of ordering a few extra envelopes is offered, you may want to also do this to cover any addressing mistakes that could happen.

4.  Select cheap wedding invitations such as a classic single-panel card style that is simple yet elegant and tends to cost less per invitation, especially when ordered in quantity.

5.  Choose a seal and send wedding invitation.  This economical all-in-one design folds up and seals into its own self-mailing piece.  Without the double mailing envelopes, this style tends to cost less per invitation and eliminates the extra cost of response cards with return envelopes.  Instead, a response postcard is attached to the invitation and is included in the invitation price.  It is easily removed and mailed back by your guests .  Another benefit to this style is the postage savings since your guests are mailing back a postcard.

6.  Be cautious of styles that are larger in size, consist of multiple layers, or include embellishments.  Their size and possible extra weight could increase the amount of postage required for mailing.

7.  Select black ink which is usually included in the invitation price.  There is an additional per-item-ordered cost for colored inks.  This means a separate ink charge for the invitations, response cards, reception cards, return address printing, etc., which can add up.

8.  Pass on the option of having a colored lining on your inner envelopes which costs extra.

9.  Include your reception information right on your invitation to eliminate the cost of a separate reception card (having less weight in the envelope might even save you from affixing extra postage).   If space allows, your dinner and reception details can be added on as extra lines aligned with the rest of your verse printing.  Some invitation styles allow the option of a corner copy – 3-4 lines that appear in the bottom left or right corner usually in a smaller sized font.  There may be a small extra charge for these lines.  Corner copy is not recommended for narrow or tea length styles.

10.  Order your thank you or informal notes at the same time you place your wedding invitation order to avoid separate shipping costs and to eliminate the need to order them at a later time.  With most invitation styles these can be printed on matching paper.

Every little bit helps if you are looking for money saving options for your unique wedding invitations.  Everyone has their own vision of how their invitations will look and only you know what you are willing to compromise on in fulfilling your dream.  Just remember that your invitations provide your guests with their first glance of your wedding.

Because your wedding can cost a lot many couples these days try to stick to a tight budget when planning. Having a budget is so that people have money left over post wedding to start their new life together. With some imagination many ways can be found to save money.

Among the different things that can be cheapened are rings and dresses, just by getting a cheaper version it does not so much disminish the quality. But if you are willing to spend the time it will save you money, a simple step that is time proven.

Printing Your Own Cheap Wedding Invitations

The rise of computer printers that can print out almost anything in beautiful colors and designs have started a wave of printing your own invitations to almost any event. Cheap wedding invitations can be churned out of your own printer with little effort on your part.

Finding ready to print cheap wedding invitations on the internet is relatively easy as well as designing your own cheap wedding invitations. There are many templates for cheap wedding invitations that can suffice for the more modern wedding invitation designs. While there are also some wedding invitation designs that look like they are embossed. These designs can be for those who wish for a more traditional wedding invitation design.

Invitation Other Options

Why not try the old electronic version of the cheap wedding invitation, this is the newest form of invite and is proving a great help in cutting wedding cost. You can simply design you invitation and then pdf and email it. After all how many people don’t have email, and computers.

Another way for getting cheap wedding invitations is to look for discounted designs in stationery stores. Some stationery stores that handle wedding invitations do have cheap wedding invitation designs that they intend to stop production.

If the stationary store has the cheap wedding invitations discounted you may have to ask, well don’t be shy. By being a little forward and asking for an alternative you will save a packet. You can also consider cutting down the number of envelopes, after all a single envelope will do the job.

While there are many ways of lowering wedding cost cheap wedding invitations is a valid and often used method. This is becoming one of the first places a persons goes for cost saving.

Less Expensive but Great Honeymoon Destinations

Let’s admit it, wedding costs are no joke. There’s the whole wedding hullabaloo, not to mention the honeymoon. Of course, you definitely want to enjoy the honeymoon where it’s just the two of you together. The honeymoon is the perfect way to relax yourselves after a busy wedding ceremony, be treated like royalties and enjoy all the amenities of luxury. Although it is always good to be frugal, don’t settle for anything less than what you both want. Some people are able to afford a once in a life time trip of their dreams to a romantic honeymoon get-away, others get creative and enjoy a honeymoon vacation in a atmosphere with just as much love, but not as expensive.

To plan your honeymoon, you can first get familiar with off-peak seasons and the perfect times to visit places. People who get married in January often visit places such as, New York, San Francisco and Washington DC. February is a popular month for weddings and people often honeymoon to destinations based on good priced packages, and it is a good time of year to travel to Celtic Ireland or the Netherlands. If you are honeymooning in March, Los Angeles is very affordable or you can also get good vacation packages for a Honeymoon Caribbean cruise to Jamaica. The best months to visit Hawaii are often in May or early June and depending on the airline carrier, you can find nice packages to Mexico during these months too. July honeymooners can find good deals for travel to Memphis or Tucson and people who get married in August, can get a nice complete package deal for honeymooning in Las Vegas. The month of September is known for good fare rates for traveling abroad to Japan. In October, you can head off to Costa Rica and in November, go kayaking at Lake Tahoe or enjoy the flavor of Dominican Republic. Any air travel near Christmas can be hectic and expensive, with many flights often easily delayed if the weather gets bad however, a December honeymoon can be just lovely in places such as, Jamaica or St. Lucia or even a train trip throughout the United States.

Making your honeymoon a lasting memory can be done in an affordable fashion and here are five romantic travel destinations that can help to make it one to cherish.

London. There are many available flights to choose from, and if you pick a remote location, it will be less expensive. While it may seem more expensive than any other European destination, there are endless choices in hotels, restaurants, transportation and tour services that you can choose from. A honeymoon vacation to London is something that can be reasonably affordable, as long as you plan ahead and do some research.

Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Accommodation is easy and you can choose from luxury resorts to quaint but clean hotels in the downtown area. You will be able to enjoy many outdoors activities together such as a ferry boat ride to Cozumel island or take a snorkeling adventure to experience some of the vibrant sea life near the shores.

Tioman Island Located in the South China Sea, Tioman Island is the largest of a group of 64 volcanic islands and is East coast of Peninsula Malaysia. It boasts of sandy beaches, verdant jungles and mountains. You and your honey can bask in the sun, go snorkeling or enjoy a day of scuba diving. Perfect for a weekend getaway, it will allure you with the serenity and comfort under a tropical sun and all for around $100 a night or possibly less. The island can be reached via ferry from the mainland; a good two hours ride that is perfect for dolphin-sightings.

Buenos Aires Argentina How about a romantic honeymoon to Buenos Aires, where you can wind down, relax, feel the tranquil breeze, enjoy delicious food, visit museums and shops. You will find wonderful places to shop with entertaining street performers near by. You can choose a few days or weeks depending on what you prefer.

Las Vegas The ultimate gaming experience, not to mention the color lights and sounds, help to make Vegas the whirlwind wedding and honeymoon destination setting. There are many cheap vacation packages offered by many hotels and resorts, with discount rates for lodging, meals and entertainment.

Since the honeymoon is all about just the two of you being together, you need not even go out of town or out of the country. If you decide to keep it local, you can begin by finding places that offer something new for you both to do and explore. Or with just candles and champagne and the two of you alone together, your honeymoon can be perfect in the private comforts of your new home.

A Guide to Professional Styles and Techniques in the Art of Digital Wedding Photography

Everyone can feel sentimental at times and when this happens, people often enjoy looking through albums full of good memories for them.

Photographs taken of the events surrounding someone’s wedding day are amongst the most cherished memories captured.

Because of this, most people will have professional photographers taking pictures before, during and after the wedding. Depending on the photographer’s style, they may not have people pose in traditional wedding positions. They are expected to wait patiently to be able to catch memorable portraits. Most photographers that are employed for weddings have assistants so that they can maximize their strategy in creating an album that will reflect their talent and skills.

What if you would also want to use your digital camera to take pictures of a friend’s wedding?

Here are a few basic techniques and styles for anyone who wants to capture the said event using a digital camera:

1. Before you take a picture of a couple or certain fixture area, you need to check the background of the area and make sure it is something you want reflected in the picture.

2. Once you have a good background, you can take several pictures in different ways, such as from the shoulders up vs. always entire body shots.

3. Next you need to consider the people in the picture, to make sure you get them at their best, for instance, if someone is wearing glasses have them move their head slightly so the flash will not reflect off them. 4 If there is a couple or a group that you wish to include in the picture, you should zoom in or out of the picture. 5. Make sure not to have bright light in the background or the foreground pictures will turn out dark or shadowy. 6. Taking several candid shots are fun and make great memories for the couple too. These portraits reveal more than the quality of the picture itself. In fact, many professionals do this to capture intimate and memorable moments. 7. Asking people to pose is not something you should do very much of and in fact, most of the pictures should be taken at random; so stay alert.

8. Your digital camera should be equipped with appropriate memory cards or sticks to ensure that no great moment is missed.

In other words, you have to have an extra memory card especially when you want to preserve more moments on film. The following suggestions should be considered before buying a memory card:

a. For 3 mega pixels - a 256 MB memory card b. Use a 512 MB memory card for 4 mega pixels c. Use a 1 GB memory card for 6 mega pixels

9. Make sure to use high resolutions for pictures that will be printed up and displayed by the couple or guests.

By using high resolution on the pictures taken, the couple can have the photographs enlarged and the image will not be distorted.

10. Keep a copy of your best works so you can use and reuse the techniques that made your viewers smile and appreciate your creation more.

One great way to store these pictures, is to move them from your camera memory card to a file on your personal computer. There are software programs available that you can use to make a good picture even better.

Wedding Digital Photography is truly a wonderful art. Wedding is a wonderful event. Together these things will trigger emotions and memories, through out time and even more so if images are captured and preserved well. If you enjoy taking digital pictures and have a good camera to do so, then your efforts will be a part a peoples lives for many generations.

Bridal shower poems are very pretty and so touching. It just don't matter if you are going to read them to the bride-to-be or want to write them on the napkins or wine glasses and use for decoration. Even if you are not a poet or even a good writer, it is possible for you to produce some original and lovely bridal shower poems.

Relate to Your Emotions

Getting in touch with your emotions is the best way to start your step on writing your poem. Obviously, you care very much for this individual or you would not be planning their bridal shower. Always keep this in mind when you begin to write your bridal shower poem. Think about how long you have been friends for and how worthy they are in your life. Do not be afraid to let it all out as you make poems.

Keep it Short and Sweet

It may be difficult to stop once you get started working on your bridal shower poems. But you really have to know when to knock it off. No matter what you are actually planning on using the bridal shower poems for, you need to keep them short and sweet so that they do not ramble or become boring.

You can make lovable bridal shower poems with rhymes. There are various basic and traditional bridal shower poems that you can either copy or use to work from and add onto.It is another great idea, include the narrative of how the guest of honor met her soon to be husband. This is sure to touch everybody’s heart and mean a lot to her. If you are not really sure of the story, you can talk to the fiancé yourself, or their parents and other friends and family to get the inside scoop.

When All Else Fails

You may have worked very hard to produce good bridal shower poems but still you can’t come up with bridal shower poems as you were hoping. Take it easy if this happens to you. You can also use other options. There are many great companies out there who will take your ideas and write the bridal shower thank you poems for you, so they are still personalized and wonderful but done professionally. You surely have to pay for these services. But the point that you are satisfied with the results and that the guest of honor is pleased with her party and with how hard you have tried is the most important thing. Everybody will congratulate your bridal shower poems.
