If you have been asked to be a best man then you should consider this quite a privilege. It actually means that the groom considers you to be very trustworthy or you are the closet person to him out of everyone that he knows. - The best man is normally in charge of organising the stag night for the groom and all his friends. Although many people find this to be stressful it does not have to be this way. The important thing is that you choose a night of entertainment that is going to be enjoyed by most of the attendees and of course the groom himself. It will be much easier for you to choose appropriate entertainment if you know most of those who will be at the party and you probably will. - You will usually be expected to accompany the groom when he goes to buy his wedding suit. You should be supportive of his choices and make sure you both have fun.
- The wedding speech is probably the one thing that worries the best man the most. There are great resources on the web these days to help you write your speech so it shouldn’t be too hard.
- Any wedding rehearsals that will be on will have to be attended by the best man. These might seem like a waste of time, but they are important so make sure you clear your calendar for them.
- You might also want to practice your dance steps as you will be expected to dance with the bride and bridesmaid.
