Creating Your Own Wedding Invitation Samples With Wedding Invitation Kits

Wedding Invitation Kits

Every bride wants a beautiful invitation for her wedding day.  One she can frame and remember for the rest of her life.  Being in control of this process is a great way to ensure you have exactly what you want, but making your own either with wedding invitation kits or completely from scratch is a big step especially when you can’t be quite sure of the final outcome.  Well, now it is easier than ever to create a few wedding invitation samples before you dive head first into deep waters.

Creating samples first allows your friends and/or family to take a look first and get another set of “eyes” before making a final decision.  This step allows you to alleviate the “unknown” and will give you assurance that the final outcome is exactly what you wanted and expected.  The last thing you need when planning a wedding are “surprises”.  The following are some tips for creating your own wedding invitation samples.

  1. Start with a good word processing program.  Word is a great program but most of them have downloadable templates for wedding invitations. Take a few minutes to browse through the various selections until you have picked a few that you like.  Download the ones you like best and leave the others bookmarked in the event you aren’t happy with your first few choices. Most templates are free to download and can be found online.
  2. Choose your card stock.  When choosing card stock, it is best to find good high quality stock. If you are unsure of which type of stock or color you want to use, then buy one ream in each first.  Then test it and see if it is what you want. This will enable you to get a good picture of how the invitation will look and feel. By doing small test samples first, you will save yourself the added stress that comes with the planning process as well as time and money.
  3. Using a digital laser printer, insert the paper stock of your choice.  If you do not have a quality printer, then print a sample copy on plain white paper and then have a local printer duplicate the invitation on various card stocks. Standard size is 8 1/2 by 11 but any size that suits your tastes will work.
  4. Fold your invitation and trim away any excess.  If your invitation is one sheet then of course this step is not necessary.
  5. Embellish each sample invitation differently with your own personal touches to get an idea of how each one will look.
  6. Next, choose the one you like best and move forward with the creation process.  It is always a good idea to get several different opinions from friends and family just to have another set of eyes.

Creating your own sample wedding invitations using wedding invitation kits or creating them from scratch is a great way to see the finished product before it actually is complete.  Alleviating the guesswork will go a long way in reducing the stress that comes with an outcome you are not happy with or did not expect.
