What To Give As A Wedding Present

Weddings are an expensive business and as such it is an honour to be asked to be part of a couples special day. But with many people living together before marriage, traditional wedding lists are becoming increasingly less common, leaving many people unsure of what makes an appropriate wedding gift.
It’s worth remembering that just because a couple have lived together before the wedding doesn’t mean that more traditional wedding gifts such as home wares would not be welcomed. Traditional wedding gifts may typically include Decanters may not have been purchased already and if they have may not be of the quality that they will last and be treasured forever.
China, tableware, silver photo frames and candlesticks are always appreciated and you always need more Wine glasses and Champagne glasses. You can make them even more special by engraving the couples name or the wedding date, just to make the gift a little more personal or including a special photograph from the day that may have been missed by the photographer.
For more unique wedding gift ideas, consider having a picture painted of the two of them of the wedding venue, or a print that you know they’ll love. Personalised cushions or mugs with their new married names can be fun. Consider contributing to their honeymoon or buying them an experience voucher for a balloon ride, spa day or romantic meal so the romance can continue even when they’re back home.
if you’re still stumped for ideas there’s nothing wrong with giving gift vouchers for a department store that they regularly shop in so that they can choose how to spend the money. Or if there’s a particular charity that you know they support then it would be very thoughtful to make a donation in their name.
Whatever you decide to give to them, for them what’s most important is that you’re able to join them and be a part of celebrating their special day.
